How it all started...
On September 28, 1837, fourteen (14) charter members had become fervently missionary minded and wished to established a mission minded Baptist Church.
These members met October 10, 1837 for Bethel's first official conference following a divine worship service.
Bethel Church joined the Appalachee Baptist Association in September 1838, at its regular meeting in Monroe.
The first Church building was long and straight, seating probably 300-400 people. During the trying days of the Civil War, membership decreased and the second building was built in 1873.
It was replaced with the present brick building in 1950.

Where we are headed...
It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words.
We hope that a few of our Church family photos
tells you our story and helps you feel connected to
Bethel Baptist Church as well as become acquainted
with the people within our Church family.
The Lord has placed each one of us here
in this place and time because He has good things
He wants to accomplish in our world through our lives.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we express our love
for Jesus by actively participating in the life
of this Church family as well as our local community.
Please know that each and every person is
important to us.
We invite you to be a part of the blessings of God
in the life of our Church as we seek to glorify God.
And as a portion of the words from a song written by
Jon Mohr says, let it ring in our hearts and minds
each day for those who follow us...
"Find Us Faithful"
Oh, may all who come behind us find us faithful,
may the fire of our devotion light their way.
May the footprints that we leave, lead them to believe,
and the lives we live inspire them to obey.
Oh, may all who come behind us, find us faithful.
